Increase Your Wellness at Work | VetFran

Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, employee needs have changed. With burnout a major factor in many workplaces, employees are looking for better work/life balance.

While many times there have been discussions about how leaders can take a break from business, there comes a time when leaders need to take a good look at how their employees are doing, especially when it comes to their health and well-being.

Wondering how to make that a priority within your franchise? Our team at VetFran has some tips about how you can help your employees avoid stress and experience more satisfaction in their work. Read on to learn more.

Promote Wellness in Your Employees

While a small amount of stress is entirely normal and can even be beneficial in some cases, too much stress or chronic stress can be dangerous. Americans today are more stressed than ever before, and many people have experienced burnout in the last two years.

Employers play a key role in helping employees find a better balance and avoid burnout. Start here:

Offer Flexibility

Do you offer your employees the opportunity to work outside of an office setting? If not, it’s time to consider it.

During the pandemic, many companies moved to remote work and discovered that it’s entirely doable! In fact, employees not only get their work done in the home environment—they’re actually more productive in most cases.

Help With Time Management

In addition to offering flexibility in the workplace, you want to make sure your employees are preparing for each day in the right way. When we start the day off in chaos, then chaos usually lures throughout the day.

Help your employees to be as prepared for the day as possible in order to help them better manage stress. Thoughtfully work with each individual employee to determine specific needs. If you have employees who struggle with time management, help them establish and stick to priorities.

Encourage Breaks

You might also want to allow your employees a chance during the day in order to get in some exercise or meditate. Need to have a meeting? Make it a walking meeting! Walk around outside as you chat to give your minds a break while walking and enjoying the fresh air.

Also encourage your employees to leave their desks for a lunch hour. It can be tempting to grab food and eat it at the desk, but a change of environment is important for helping employees hit the reset button. Those who eat lunch outside of the office setting are better set up for afternoon productivity.
